Move settings and Builder templates to another site

Use the transfer tools when moving a locator design from staging to production or sharing a design between sites. Store CSV, Builder templates, and plugin settings are separate exports.

Export Builder templates

  1. Go to Store Locator → Tools.
  2. In Builder templates, search or browse for the templates to move.
  3. Select the root layouts or designs you need.
  4. Choose Export selected.

The JSON bundle includes linked template dependencies where available. For example, exporting a locator layout can include the Store Card, Search form, and Map infobox it references.

If the result warns about missing referenced templates, resolve those references on the source site and export again before importing to production.

Import Builder templates

  1. On the destination site, go to Store Locator → Tools → Builder templates.
  2. Choose the template import action.
  3. Select the exported JSON file.
  4. Wait for the success notice.

Imported templates receive new IDs and are labelled as imported. Internal dependencies are relinked to those new IDs. Open each imported root layout in the Builder and verify its selected Search form, Store Card, infobox, category tile, and marker designs.

Export settings

Under Tools → Settings, choose Export settings. The JSON intentionally omits secret values such as the Google server geocoding key and reCAPTCHA secret.

Import settings

On the destination site, import the settings JSON from the same panel. Existing secret keys are preserved rather than overwritten with masked or empty export values.

After import, manually verify:

  • Google browser and server keys;
  • reCAPTCHA site and secret keys;
  • page IDs used for store detail pages;
  • default form, card, infobox, and marker selections;
  • URLs, country restrictions, timezone-sensitive behavior, and retention settings.

IDs for WordPress pages and content records often differ between sites, so do not assume every site-specific reference can be transferred automatically.
