Put a Search form over the Map

Use the Map search overlay when search should float inside the Map instead of occupying a separate Layout row.

Configure it

  1. Create and save a Search form with an appropriate compact field arrangement.
  2. Open the Layout and select the Map widget.
  3. Open its search-overlay panel.
  4. Enable Show search overlay.
  5. Select the saved Search form.
  6. Choose Horizontal position: Left, Center, or Right.
  7. Set Distance from top (px) from 0–240.
  8. Set Maximum width (px) from 240–1000.
  9. Save the Layout.

The Search form itself controls fields and styling. The Map widget controls only overlay placement and maximum width.

Avoid duplicate search controls

Remove or intentionally differentiate any separate Search widget using the same parameters. Two Location or radius controls in one locator can confuse visitors even when they share state.

Test map controls and mobile

Verify the overlay does not cover map zoom, marker navigation, infobox close, or required attribution. At narrow widths, ensure the form remains inside the Map and fields stack using their Mobile width values.
