Import an onboarding industry demo

The first-run setup wizard can create a complete demo for one industry.

Run the wizard​

  1. Open Store Locator after installation.
  2. In the onboarding wizard, select Set up demo stores.
  3. Choose an industry.
  4. Wait while the wizard reports Creating your … demo.
  5. Continue after Your demo is ready.

Each industry creates 20 sample Stores and a matching Category. Industry demos use data based in different countries so address and map examples are coherent.

Demo images​

Each industry has one bundled image under the plugin's assets/demo directory. The seeder imports that file into the WordPress Media Library once and reuses its attachment for Stores of that industry. It does not rely on fixed attachment IDs from a developer database.

Re-running and adding demos​

After completion, Add another demo returns to industry selection. The importer tracks its own media attachment by source metadata to avoid duplicate uploads. Demo Categories and Stores remain actual records that can be edited.

Do not treat demo content as production data. Remove or replace sample Stores, Categories, contact details, and images before publishing a real locator.
