Add opening hours, split shifts, and 24-hour days

Opening hours are saved as a structured weekly schedule. A day can be closed, open 24 hours, or contain one or more time intervals.

1. Set the store timezone​

Go to Store Locator → Stores, edit the store, and open Location. Select the timezone where the store operates. The live Open now calculation uses the store timezone, not necessarily the visitor's or WordPress server's timezone.

2. Configure each day​

Open the Opening Hours section.

For a closed day, leave Open disabled. For a normal day:

  1. enable Open;
  2. leave 24 Hours disabled;
  3. set the opening and closing time;
  4. use Add hours when the day has another interval.

For example, a store closed during the afternoon could use:

09:00 AM – 01:00 PM
04:00 PM – 09:00 PM

Do not overlap intervals. If an interval was added by mistake, remove that interval rather than disabling the entire day.

For a store that never closes on a given day, enable both Open and 24 Hours. Do not enter 12:00 AM–12:00 AM; that can be interpreted as an empty interval instead of a full day.

3. Save and inspect the stored schedule​

Save the store and reopen it. Confirm each interval remains under its original weekday. Pay special attention to split shifts and overnight schedules.

For an overnight business, test both sides of midnight. The closing portion must remain associated with the correct operating interval and the Open now result must be correct after midnight.

4. Show the full weekly schedule​

  1. Go to Store Locator → Builder.
  2. Open the relevant Store Card, Map infobox, or store-details design.
  3. Add the Opening Hours content element.
  4. Select its supported day/time formatting and save.

This element displays the schedule. It should not be replaced with the Open now element.

5. Show only the current state​

Add the Open now element when the design needs a compact status rather than the full week. Configure separate labels and colors for open and closed states using Customize the Open now and Closed badge.

Verify before publishing​

Test one closed day, one normal day, one split-shift day, one 24-hour day, and any overnight interval. If the card says Mon–Sun Closed despite mixed hours, first confirm the design uses Opening Hours, then save/reopen the store to verify its structured schedule was persisted.
